Summer is finally upon us. That means it’s time to get our summer wardrobe right to make the best out of the year's best season. You don’t need much to look fly. With just these 9 clothing items you can create multiple dope everyday summer outfits. As I like to say, less is more.

  1. White T-shirt

There’s no way around it. A white t-shirt is a must-have base layer everyone should have in their wardrobe. Come summer, I’ll pair mine with literally anything.

COS | clean cut t-shirt ($39)

UNIQLO U | crew neck t-shirt ($14)

2. Linen Tank Top

This is a new wardrobe essential for me. Until recently I didn’t even know these existed. I can’t look back now. Linen tank tops are an elevated version of the regular cotton version. It drapes beautifully and it’s ultra-breathable. Excellent for those hot summer days.

MANGO | 100% linen top ($39)

MASSIMO DUTTI | 100% linen strappy top ($45)

3. Black Linen Shirt

A great twist on the classic white linen shirt is a black linen shirt. It’s incredible sometimes what a difference just a different color can make. Don’t be shy to wear black in the summer. Black looks beautiful against glowy tanned skin.

MANGO | 100% linen shirt ($79)

COS | wide-sleeved linen shirt ($120)

4. Black Linen Wrap Skirt

A lightweight linen skirt is a fantastic addition to a summer capsule wardrobe. Wear it dressed up with a bodysuit and some heels or casually as a beach cover-up with some slippers.

MANGO | linen sarong skirt ($69)

& OTHER STORIES | high waist midi wrap skirt ($99)

5. Linen Pants

What I love about linen pants and why they deserve a spot on this list is their effortless vibe. The key here is to look for a pair with pleats for a flattering drape and floor-skimming length to elongate the body. Linen pants are breathable—the perfect alternative to denim for warmer days. Plus they're extra versatile so easy to dress them up or down.

MANGO | straight linen-blend trousers ($89)

EVERLANE | the linen way-high drape pant ($128)

6. Denim Shorts

A must for denim shorts is a waist-nipping high rise and a flattering A-line shape. The non-stretch (organic) cotton kinds are my favorites. This rigid fabric will stand the test of time. If you’re curvy (like me) size up to allow enough room for your thighs and bum. Get the waist taken in if necessary.

EVERLANE | the a-line denim short ($68)

7. Straight-leg Jeans

A good-fitting, classic pair of straight-leg jeans is an all-year-round wardrobe staple. Whether you like yours cropped, full-length, loose, or more fitted, in milder summers, they will get worn for sure.

& OTHER STORIES | straight jeans ($129)

8. Black Satin Slip Dress

There isn’t a more versatile dress than a black satin slip dress. Whenever I’m going on a quick getaway this is the only dress I’m packing. It can easily be worn casually during the day with some flat sandals or sneakers. But it can also be dressed up with some heels and nice accessories for evening wear.

& OTHER STORIES | slim satin midi dress ($139)

DISSH | brie slate satin slip midi dress ($179)

9. Linen Blazer

A linen blazer is THE overlayer in the summer. I’m sorry, it just is. Great for workwear whenever you want a classy corporate look, but also easily styled casually with a simple tank, denim shorts, and sandals combo. Invest in one that fits you just right, so you can enjoy wearing this piece for years to come.
